A Workshop on how to manage Dead Bodies
The EMS technicians in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross organized a workshop about how to manage dead bodies for two days in which 27 paramedic trainees from different centers participated in it, in addition to 4 members of the Palestinian Red Crescent, and representatives from the International committee of the Red Cross.

The workshop was opened by a speech from the director of EMS technicians Mr. Georges Kettaneh, who thanked the International Committee on its permanent support for the Lebanese Red Cross in general and for the EMS technicians in specific, stressing on the importance of dead bodies management.

And after a general definition of the workshop and its topics, the participants received two days of extensive information on the most important lessons and the role of forensic science in humanitarian situations, and the importance of using standard methods to solve the problems of missing people in many different cases and the relationship with the ICRC’s work and how to manage dead bodies during disasters (natural/ conflicts, etc…), and how to determine the identity of victims taking in consideration the logic that is used during this process and the importance of documenting information. The workshop ended by a maneuver on how to act during the “total disaster” (explosives), and at the end certificates “participation” were distributed to all.
